High-Pressure N2 & O2 Servicing — Why This Matters

  • Aircraft N2 and O2 systems are stored at very high pressure — typically 1,800–3,000+ psi depending on the system.
  • A cylinder, hose, or fitting failure under this pressure can cause serious injury or death.
  • Oxygen systems also carry an additional fire/explosion hazard that nitrogen does not.

Systems & tools used

  • Nitrogen service cart
  • Oxygen service equipment (oxygen-clean)
  • Rated hoses, regulators & fittings
  • Safety glasses / face shield

SOP & compliance notes

  • Never mix N2 and O2 servicing equipment — cross-contamination is a fire/explosion risk
  • Keep oil and grease away from all oxygen system components, always
